The Arkansas River Valley is home to two of the most beautiful and sought after hot springs in Colorado. 

Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort is located in Nathrop, Colorado overlooking the Chalk Cliffs. Our family frequents the upper family pools and slide when open during the summer months. The bath house and relaxation pools are open year-round.

Cottonwood Hot Springs Resort is charming and rustic. Located off CR 306 heading up Cottonwood Pass, this is the perfect place for adults who want to relax in the many soaking pools located along Cottonwood Creek. 

These mountain towns offer tons of family attractions perfect for weekend adventures or when family and friends are visiting.  Here are our favorite attractions in the areas: 

• Hiking The Collegiate Peak 14'ers. You can also drive to the top of many. 
• St. Elmo Ghost Town - kids get a kick out of feeding the chipmunks and exploring one of the most well-preserved ghost towns in the western U.S. You can also rent ATV's to take up on Tin Cup Pass. 
• Cottonwood Pass - a beautiful scenic drive from Buena Vista to the highest elevation of paved Colorado state highway. Follow the road over the pass to Taylor Park Reservoir.  
• The Buena Vista Heritage Museum 

Many locals choose to live in the Arkansas River Valley due to the abundance of locally-owned businesses. 

Our local farmer's market is held weekly come spring through fall and features Weathervane Farms fresh produce plus many local artisans held in McPhelemy Park off HWY 24.

During the summer months, you can find families stationed up in South Main for free music at The Beach Friday evenings at 6:30pm.

Not to mention, locals and tourists flock to BV for CKS Paddlefest, Renewal Music Festival featuring Billy Strings, Rapids & Grass Beer Festival, Gold Rush Days, live music at The Beach and Surf Hotel Ivy Ballroom plus much more!
